General
What is KasuMarketplace?
KasuMarketplace is the student marketplace for Kaduna State University (KASU). It connects KASU students as buyers and verified student vendors, making it easy to buy and sell products within the campus community.
Is KasuMarketplace officially affiliated with KASU?
KasuMarketplace is an independent platform built by and for KASU students. We are not officially affiliated with or endorsed by Kaduna State University. Our goal is to serve the KASU student community with a trusted marketplace.
Who can use KasuMarketplace?
Anyone in the KASU community can browse and buy. To sell, you must be a verified KASU student or alumnus, at least 18 years old, and complete our identity verification process.
Accounts & Verification
How do I create an account?
You can sign up with your email and password, or use Google, Facebook, or Apple sign-in. You will receive a one-time code to verify your email address.
What does "Verified Vendor" mean?
A Verified Vendor has completed KasuMarketplace's identity verification process. This includes BVN (Bank Verification Number) verification via Dojah and a live selfie match against their verified identity. Verification helps ensure that vendors are who they claim to be, building trust across the marketplace.
How does vendor verification work?
Verification happens in two simple steps: (1) Enter your BVN and take a live selfie, which is matched against your BVN identity via Dojah. (2) Set up your store. Once both steps are complete, you can start selling.
Why was my verification rejected?
Verification can fail if your selfie does not match your BVN identity, if your image quality is too low, or if the information provided is inaccurate. You can retry after a rejection. If you believe there is an error, contact us at support@kasumarketplace.com.ng.
Buying on KasuMarketplace
How do I place an order?
Browse products, add items to your wishlist, and message the vendor to arrange purchase and delivery.
What happens after I pay?
Your payment is held securely by KasuMarketplace. The vendor is notified and has 48 hours to accept or reject the order. If they accept, you will receive their contact information to coordinate delivery. If they reject or do not respond within 48 hours, your order is automatically cancelled and you are fully refunded.
How do I confirm I received my order?
Once you receive your item, go to your order details and click "Yes — I Received My Order." This releases the payment to the vendor (subject to a short hold period before funds become available for withdrawal).
What if I have a problem with my order?
If something is wrong with an order you have received, you can report an issue directly from your order details page. This opens a dispute, and our team will review the case. There is no fixed resolution timeline — it depends on the complexity of the case and vendor responsiveness. Funds are held until the dispute is resolved. See the Buyer Protection page for full details.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are issued automatically when: (a) a vendor rejects your order, (b) an order times out after 48 hours without vendor response, or (c) a dispute is resolved in your favor. Refunds are processed through Paystack back to your original payment method. Timing depends on your bank.
Payments & Buyer Protection
How does Buyer Protection work?
When you pay on KasuMarketplace, your money is held securely and only released to the vendor after you confirm delivery. If anything goes wrong — the vendor rejects, does not respond, or there is a dispute — you can get a full refund. See the Buyer Protection page for the full process.
Can I pay a vendor directly outside the platform?
No — you should never pay a vendor directly outside KasuMarketplace. Transactions made off-platform are not covered by Buyer Protection. If you pay outside the platform, we cannot help you if something goes wrong. Always use the official checkout.
What payment methods are accepted?
All payments are processed through Paystack. You can pay with debit cards, bank transfers, and other payment methods supported by Paystack. KasuMarketplace never sees or stores your card details.
Selling on KasuMarketplace
How do I become a vendor?
Sign up as a vendor, complete identity verification (BVN + selfie), and set up your store. Once both steps are complete, you can start listing products.
How do I receive payments?
When a buyer confirms receipt, the payment enters a short hold period (24 hours) before becoming available in your wallet. You can then request a payout to your registered bank account via Paystack. Minimum payout is ₦500.
Does KasuMarketplace charge a commission?
Currently, KasuMarketplace charges zero commission on sales. You receive the full amount from each sale. Future monetization (such as subscription plans or promotional features) may be introduced separately with advance notice.
What happens if a buyer opens a dispute?
If a buyer reports an issue with their order, the payment is held and the dispute is reviewed by our team. You will have the opportunity to respond. The dispute is resolved either by releasing the funds to you or refunding the buyer. See the Terms of Service for details.
